Nora is a Bay Thoroughbred mare, never raced. She arrived at FHHR in April 2024. She had refresher training and has come a long way. An intermediate handler is needed as she has her typical spunky TB mare moments when in season. She also loves attention and will cuddle when she wants to. She has been a pasture mate with mares and geldings, and is quite compatible with both. Nora would make a wonderful companion horse or light trails, occasionally. She definitely likes her meals and is very motivated by treats, and loves a "good girl" or other words of praise. She has some conformation issues - offset at the knee (pigeon-toed) with some manageable arthritis in her knees (she received X-rays at her Spring 2025 exam). Therefore, it is recommended that she mostly walk; no cantering, and no jumping. She stands well for vet and farrier and at the tie-ring for grooming. She is not a big fan of a dental float and will need slight sedation for her dental visits. Nora is UTD on her vaccines, as well as vet annual exams and farrier/dental visits. On occasion, she will put her ears back and swish her tail for a little show, but will stop the fuss at a firm "No". She really enjoys doing groundwork and is very proud of herself when she is praised by her handler. She is very smart, has a solid mind and is not spooky.
